What is NC (V?)
NC (V) is a new and modern responsive qualification offered at public FET colleges across the country. The qualification is obtained over 3 years. It was introduced nationally in 2007 and is presented at levels, 2, 3 and 4 of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). Each level takes a minimum of one year to complete.
NCV gives high school learners a vocational alternative to academic grades, 10, 11, and 12 by offering vocational focused training. Under these new programme both theory and practice is covered. The practical component of study may be offered in a real workplace environment or in a stimulated workplace environment. The programme is very interesting as it provides students with an excellent opportunity to experience work related activities while they are still studying. Students who have successfully completed the NCV programme at Level 4 have many opportunities including:
-
enhanced chances to be admitted for learnerships and skills programmes;
-
gaining entrance into a university;
-
and better prospects of employment in the job market
Potential employers who need to recruit these highly skilled learners can contact the college on 017-7129040 and speak to Sihle Nzuza.
