Welcome to distance learning and ‘KHUPHULA’ at GS College, where we strive to bring education to the nation, for the nation!

The launch of KHUPHULA which is the learner management system for all students studying at GS College, embraces technology with an objective to being more accessible for all students, thus making life more comfortable, with the trends towards using technology virtually anywhere and everywhere.

An online student interface enables distance learners to have better communication lines with lecturers, thus keeping them in regular contact with regard to their studies. With such a site, students are able to obtain information on Administrative and Academic issues, just as on-site learners would. The Administrative information includes personal profile details, academic and assignment records, examination results and dates, and financial records. The Academic information would comprise courseware, subject-related academic guidance, discussion groups, chat rooms, recommended resources and more tools.

Once the student becomes a registered user and participant of the system, which can be accessed through Internet, or for those who don’t have access to Internet or Internet Cafes, the option to learn offline will also be made available, through the use of technology and hardcopy support. Thus, the use of multi-media tools will lead to an interactive learning approach for the distance learner in order to support and enhance student learning, more effectively in the future.

Currently, a pilot run for N4-N6 Engineering and Business Studies students is available on a distance and correspondence medium. With the demand for distance learning the department hopes to expand fully to cover other academic courses in the future.

Visit the website at your local Student Support Centers on campus as a registered GS College student or at your leisure in your home, if you have a laptop or computer with internet access.

As a distance learner one can access distance learning by clicking on the KHUPHULA link which is available for access to registered students who wish to study N4-N6 Business Study and Engineering Study courses at the various GS College Campus sites, namely, Standerton Ermelo and Evander Campuses.
